AFE Stage 2 Intake on 535i

http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...BC4&brandID=56

Does anyone have any experience with this kit yet? Was debating on either this model or going with a BMS intake which is only around $200.

Whats the major difference between the two?

the BMS is an open intake whereas the AFE is in a sealed enclosure. there's some threads if you look that debate with the open and sealed intakes. from what i remember not a whole difference with either intake. you wanna spend $200 for BMS or do you want to spend $450 for the AFE...your call

i would pull up a search and type in BMS intake and see what people say and than do the same with the AFE...doing some research will always help you understand that way you're confident in your purchase

I can't say for the F10, but aFe had a big issue with intakes on the E60. They suffered from MASSIVE heat soak and actually lost almost 10% power on every dyno pull. Literally hundreds of customers returned theirs for a refund.
I would guess BMS (since it's located within the stock bottom box) would be less prone to heat soak because BMW did a surprisingly good job managing heat soak in the stock air boxes
