[Bmw doubles]

I'm not a fan of the custom hood emblems out there for the most part. I converted my 535 badge to high gloss black and now the blue and white with chrome OEM emblem kinda doesn't match. I saw the black options out there but nothing that looks high quality. Anyone have suggestions for high gloss black roundel upgrades?

Though this is not black I thought this was the best I've seen so far

I think that badge at the link on ebay looks good, on that specific car. But I don't think it would look as good on anything but a silver car. In my opinion, if the car isn't silver, or the car doesn't have anything that's silver to "match" that badge, then the badge won't look right. Again, just my opinion. Other than the stock wheels, i don't think there's anything "silver/gray/billet-colored" on the outside of the car.

True and painting high gloss black could still be risky for 99 bucks

Not really, figure for $99 you get a unique and solid emblem that can't possibly suffer from sun fading like most others out there that turn yellow in a bout a year (especially with our SOCal sun). Then if you powdercoat those emblems (figure what? $50?), they will be gloss black AND last a long time.

Looks like it belongs on a Delorean! I kinda cheaped out on this mod as I tried the carbon fiber overlays from shadowlinetrim.com and at first I covered the blue. But because they give you an extra set I ended up doing the other two. I think it looks clean. But that's just my opinion

Although my car is mostly blacked out, I will leave the roundels in their original Bavarian flag colors. I like the way that the emblem stands out.

I'm thinking maybe high gloss black the chrome trim around the original roundel and leave the original colors. Gonna try photoshop and see what a test image looks like. I'll post it back here as an example.

The black with black carbon fiber does look good just not 100% sold on it. Bimmian has some cool new options.

I'll have to take a picture of mine because I couldn't find the silver carbon fiber overlays to go with the black carbon fiber overlay so I ended up doing all black carbon and I'm diggin' it! maybe because my car's blacked out

Got a set of cf blk/silver of good ol' Amazon.com for about $40 bucks. Had them about a year and the hood is starting to get that yellowed out faded look to it. I have another set to replace them with on standby and also a cf red/blk set to try out. For such a low price its an easy way to change the look of your car from time to time. At work and these Gvmnt computers are a pain when trying to attach pics, sorry.

There are a lot of different custom versions of the Roundel. I made this pic at a recent BMWCCA local outing. While I do like the Texas version, I strongly prefer the traditional look of the standard Roundel. To each his own, but for me I'll be sticking with the standard one.

Even though my car is all white and black I don't like to mess with the BMW logo... For me the badge is the badge and anything else just looks cheap. If I had to choose I would go for the pure gloss black with chrome outlines
