Carbon fiber vs matte finish
My friends couldn't understand why I don't like cf parts on my car. I'v always gone with a PU and have it Matt finished. I'm wasting my money they said, it looks cheap they said, am I totally out of style and my taste is a bit outdated? What are your thoughts?

it's all preference. i have a variety of different finishes on my car. gloss JetBlack paint, Matte wheels, CF lips, trunk and roof spoiler, gloss black window trim, reflectors, and door trim. the only thing that's flat black is my grill but the outer rings are gloss carbon fiber. it's really personal preference.

I don't have a particular gloss/matte/cf preference. foe me it's more about that particular part and how it looks. what never appealed to me is that monochrome murdered out look.

I have never been a big fan of gloss CF but on my car I have the M performance front lip and rear spoiler which only came in gloss. I think it looks great!
Different story on my bike though, I have a lot of Ducati Perfromance CF and it's all Matte finish. Matte, IMO definitely looks better but each to their own! |

Only thing not matte or CF on my car is my PU front spoiler. My first one was CF and the thing gets destroyed from rock chips, bumpy roads, etc. So when I replaced it, I went with a PU replacement. I left it in the factory black and have had no issues with rock chips or scrapes. It's a part that sees a lot of wear so I'm not too worried about it.

Gloss Carbon Fiber checking in here. Matte finishes look dull in my opinion. I remember when I first saw matte colors on a car I thought they were in the process of priming the paint for the finished product. However, it really is just personal preference. If you like it then that's all that matters boss.
