Could be the Gas reminder. When the range remaining is 60 miles, the car beeps and gives a reminder on the display, after a while it goes away, but just the yellow triangle remains. Once the range is 30 miles, the car beeps again, and the gas pump icon is lit.

Then vehicle information. Then vehicle status (check control). This will give you a detail on the cause of the triangle. Frustratingly, BMW maintains no history of check control errors for the user. Thus, you can only see an error when there is an active yellow triangle on the dash. Case in point: the warning triangle lit up on my car. Then halfway through my trip it cleared. I did not catch the initial error because I was in the middle of a dangerous intersection. So, once the condition cleared, it is impossible for the average user to know what took place since there is no history. It turned out that my key fob battery was marginal. When it was within margins you can't see that it is low. Ugh! |
