...Normal thing. Every several years, 3pc wheels need to be taken apart and resealed with silicone, which degrades due to heat and age. I did the exact same thing on the picture, and the wheel leaked again weeks later. I had to get it professionally taken apart and sealed again. Mine was leaking at the seams where the wheel spoke and bolts met.

Yes, this is one of the reasons I prefer monoblocks over 3-piece wheels.

Just as a reference, how are BMW wheels made? Are they MonoBlock Or X-Piece?

Thanks. That means I won't have to worry about my 01 E46 with its original rims.

This. Unfortunately the silicone seal is not a permanent thing, so you will have to rebuild them every so often to make sure that they won't leak at the register.

I've had like 6-7 sets and have all leaked, monoblock is the way to go now...

Just curious, what's all that orange paint-like overspray on the wheel in the first photo?

It's normal here in HK.
High-end shops only do one thing, that's resell wheels & tires, of course, at substantial markup

It comes with the wheel. But it is not paint and wash out after fixing
