Comfort Access Help

Picked up the car today and have a few questions about comfort access

Can you also close the boot automatically

Can you program the car so the wing mirrors fold when the doors are locked?

NO and NO, it will need coding to close mirrors on locking.

If you hold the lock button for a few seconds it will fold the mirrors. It may close the boot as well but not tried that yet

Apparently the car does not have the closing function as that would need two buttons on the boot lid interior, it's a first world problem!

Assuming you're in North America, through coding you can accomplish the following:

Close mirrors by holding down lock button on remote / holding finger on CA handle. Mirrors will auto unfold when unlocking door.

Close trunk lid by pushing button in driver footwell. This button becomes a toggle (open if closed / close if open). You can also close using trunk button on keyfob. Works same as footwell button.

Again, both will need to be coded.

OP is in the UK. Folding mirrors & electronically operated boot are both optional extras.

Do you have those options OP?

OK, you can get the mirror folding when locking the car coded then.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for the boot lid as it is not powered.

I have it on my car. I can never seem to get the open tailgate feature to work reliably with the wave of the foot under the rear bumper.

I have the last (2016) F10 535D M S with it and my foot swinging antics are useless., it does not work on this car.

We have this on our F48 and if its the same system there's a knack to it. Many F48 owners were having issues with the system too.

Don't stand too close to the car car, I'd say about 50-60cm away, put just yours toes under the rear bumper directly under where the BMW badge is on the tailgate and swipe your foot right. Once you get the knack it will never fail you...

Great!

Luckily our salesman was very detailed during handover and showed us how to operate the tailgate properly, he also got both my wife and I to try it out to ensure we had got the hang of it. Seems like many salesman don't bother with this level of detail during the handover as lots of F48 owners were struggling with the tailgate until I posted up this process

I waxed the rear bumper with the key in my pocket and it kept opening!

Had to put the key in the house in the end
