Two cars - two keys

Am new to this site, so first of all, I want to say hello. I have a 520D sport and my wife drives a 520D SE(both LCI models). The problem we have is having identical keys on our key rings. My wife keeps popping the boot on mine by accident assuming she is opening hers. Thankfully, I have spotted this before the boot completely fills with all the rain we get over here. Is there a way of solving this? I remember the old model, came with coloured stickers to identify keys. The "modern" line has an oyster key( would be useful as a second key for each car).
Even the option of disabling the boot opening function on the spare keys, unless the car was unlocked first, would be a big help.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Just put a different color key ring or keychain on each key

Thanks for your help. The decal stickers appear to be the solution.

A small dab of her nail polish on the back of her remote should do the trick.

i don't know but if i had this issue and i had just bought two new cars from the dealer i would make them trade me one of my black keys for an oyster key…they are easily reprogrammed at the dealer, and likely whoever they sell another car too would love to have two different color keys…
we have a similar problem as my 5 series and my wives 335gt have the same exact keys as well…. we do keep different keychains on them but i agree a different color would be a great way for fast recognition….

Don't get the leather key fob, too bulky and a pain flipping open all the time.

My wife and I had the same problem, so I just sold one of our BMW's and bought a Chevy. Problem solved. :

I had same problem of matching fobs with the wife's fobs. I didn't want a decal to peel or keychain/cover to make the fob bulkier. So I took some Duplicolor vinyl paint and sprayed the end of my fobs. If it starts to chip, it takes five minutes to respray.
