The shades that cover the rear quarter glass are in a vertical housing that splits the panes of glass on the rear doors and will pop off once you get them started with the plastic tool. These need to be removed before you'll be able to loosen the rear door panels and remove them. Be aware that the fasteners are tighter on the rear doors than the front doors for whatever reason. Once you get one of the fasteners loose, the rest should go easier. Good luck!

Thanks. Ran out of energy today for that part of the job after it did not go fast. After doing the front doors and time it took for the Dynamat, if met with obstacles, I had to move on. But I did see a vid this afternoon with the screens, and it is exactly as you state - the vertical frame needs to pop off.

Having said that, with what I have of the Stage 1 and 2 (all front speakers), the difference is obvious from HK. Everything is tighter, richer, voices are clearer - I can clearly hear the lyrics to "Golddigger" finally, and laughed.

The car is CPO, Jet Black, and it needs a lot of paint correction. It will take a couple of days -waiting 'till spring. Waxed to protect for now. Black is tough.

If you were able to get the front doors sorted, the rears should go smoothly now that you know the approach.

Completely agree about the difference in clarity. I had the Top HiFi system and took a listen with the Bavsound speakers installed in the passenger door and the factory speakers in the driver's door. The amount of distortion coming out of the factory speakers was a little troubling in comparison

I have a black F10 as well and it's a challenge to keep clean now that winter has finally settled in here. As you mentioned, waxed for now, more to come in the spring.

Look out for them in the MarketPlace. You can find once in a while stage 1/2 and even a couple Bimmertech amps come up for sale

That is a good deal for those that choose.

Just watch the install vids a couple of times before the install. A few details are omitted, but watching the vid carefully helps fill in gaps. Have access to the install vids as you install. It is not tech difficult work - just have patience and take your time.

Old post but will try to revive it. I believe I have the basic stereo package in my car. I am far from a audiophile but I could notice a distinct downgrade from my current hifi-setup in my Audi A4.

Have anyone tried the Bavsound Stage 1 for stereo setup?
