520d just cut out and won't start HELP

Right so i was casually driving down a bendy country road, around Oxfordshire, enjoying a Saturday evening drive when all of a sudden the car just completely cut off and wouldn't start. Battery is fine, CIC nav working without an issue.
Tried restarting, cranks but won't start.
Plugged in BMWhat adaptor to read out codes and it just comes back with a camshaft sensor.

Will take it to the stealers tomorrow once they open, but has anyone else experienced similar symptoms? Any thoughts ?
Could this be the dreaded N47 timing chain issue?

Any assistance, assurance would be much appreciated

Hi mate, the exact same thing has just happened to me, did it turn out to be the sensor or the dreaded chain issue?

Unfortunately it did turn out to be the chain and needed a whole new engine, it had caused far too much damage for repair. I did manage to get BMW to foot the bill, took some convincing though!

Which year and month is your bmw, changing timing chain is not very expensive if you change it before it blows

Ok kayfaz

You will be covered by bmw because of your full service history

This is a known problem to them and you can get them to pay for the repairs trust me
