I have a 2013 550i x drive with the M sport package. The car feels strong, and crisp, making me think that it may have a tune already. How can I tell if it does?

I bought it from Motorwerks in Barrington, IL certified used. It was originally sold there as well. The car had a full K40 system with laser diffusers, and also tint front and rear. It seems like a bit of an enthusiast's car.

Any tips on how to tell if it's tuned?

Only way it can be tuned is dinan which you can call them and provide vin. I doubt anyone would leave their piggy back connected when selling the car.

Test drive another 12 or 13 550i and see if there is a noticeable difference.

If it is a piggyback you will see the extra wires.

Another option as mentioned above would be calling Dinan
