Those seats make me want to retrofit those onto my current M. The interior in general with the alcantara armrest looks great

OP, Alcantara wears better than leather actually, and cloth is easy to clean to original condition by dry-cleaning (chemical clean) in your average decent level detailing shop. I do it once or twice a year, car is like new inside. Works on headlner as well btw. I wouldn't worry about it with a kid, my girl's Audi A4 Sline has cloth and leather, it's totally manageable with a kid.

cheaper to retrim (much cheaper). Under 2k USD you can get any interior you want really, retaining original frames and cushions.

+1 the Alcantara/cloth is going to be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

I'd order those seats in a heartbeat.

I'm fairly certain we're not going to get them in the US because of the large proportion of BMWs that are leased here instead of purchased. BMW wants to be able to clean out all evidence of the initial lessee before they take the car to auction.

The E91 cloth backrest cover lists for $555.17 here in the US.

I briefly considered ordering the vinyl interior and replacing it with the cloth covers -- but after I added the prices of all the parts and labor the leather was much, much cheaper.

I'll continue to be jealous of the additional options that BMW offers you in the rest of the world.

I don't think he was necessarily talking OEM. Just that you can pretty much have an interior done, custom, for around 2k...

NOT A FAN.

Not a fan of Alacantra myself. I dont like the interior at all.
That being said the M-detailing and the contrast stitch is a nice touch.

The interior looks very dark and grey.

I ordered the alcantra on my car. Leather is sticky and warm in the summer, cold in the winter. Alcantra/cloth is more comfortable, and feels and looks nicer I think.
