Speed limit
Check it, I just traded this 2013 550ixM (http://www.bmwofschererville.com/aut...5-in/13216295/) for a LCI 2014 550ixM. Alpine white with mocha nappa, and some more options. My question is why did the unmodified 13 550ixM do 165mph and the 2014 550ixM can only hit 133mph before the governor kicks in? I know this will spark some debate but I believe both cars have not had tunes done to them.

If the car was originally built with performance tires the limiter is at 155 mph, otherwise it is 130 mph - iirc.

Run the VINs thru bmwvin.com and see what they say. It will show rim option,, which can be checked to see which tires it had, and 840 - speed limiter synchronization (I think) is the higher limit.
