Looking to buy a new to me 5 series. Questions.
Not new to the BMW circle but new to the 5 series side of thing ?
The car I'm looking at is a 2011 528i with xdrive. It's alpine white with tan interior. No sport package which is a downfall for me but only car in my price range. Seems pretty basic except for navigation. Currently car has about 55k on it. And is physically in good condition (from what I can see). What problems may I face in the future? Better question is what problems will I face. Last BMW I had was a 335 coupe (favorite car) didn't have to many issues but I didn't keep it long enough to experience anything major. Only major maintenance I did was replacing cic unit at the dealer (burned a hole in my pocket) Any advise would be helpful |

Just so you're aware, the '11 528's had the I6 non-turbo, NA engines similar to the E60's. '12- current 528i's have the N20 4 cylinder T engines. My wife has a '12 528i and it has plenty of power, is very low maintenance and the fuel economy is unbelievable for a car that size. Can't comment on reliability of the I6 NA engines.

Get the 535i with the N55 engine and stay away from the 4cyl turbo 528i.
I owned them both. |
