Thoughts on debadging

Although I have owned eight BMWs in a row (nine total) ('13 535i M Sport and '16 X1 are currently in the garage) and I would consider myself a BMW enthusiast, I am new to Bimmerpost, mostly for lack of time. Anyway, I love my F10 and I am going to keep it instead of trading for a new one. But I am adding a performance tune (Dinan S1 or Burger N55), intake, and exhaust. I was thinking of adding the (Dinan or Burger) badges, as well as the "M" next to the 535i, or taking everything off and changing the rondels to black and red (Go Dawgs!). I have read a few threads on other sites where people were ripped pretty hard for doing this. Anyone have pics of their cars that have been debadged after mods?

To be honest, I was skeptical at debadging my car. This is my first BMW and I never thought about removing the badges until I browsed the forums. After I did it, I never looked back. It looks beautiful! I enjoy looking at the back of my car and viewing the perfect symmetry on both sides. It's a very clean look. Surprisingly, I've received a few compliments and questions while getting gas in my car. I highly recommend it!

Also, Go Dawgs! I'm currently a student at UGA!

I'm leaning to de badging and adding the black and red roundels! Go Dawgs! Beat Tech and the Gators suck!

Debadged car looks clean, but I rarely see a debadged 550 or M5

I went to a shop to help get my spoiler removed & the shop owner was like "let's take those badges off" and I agreed. I like the clean look a rebadged car has.

I'm a "leave it all stock" kind of guy personally, but actually like the the no badge clean look. Adding badges though, M or otherwise, personally, not a fan.

i've been thinking about this aswell

my only problem with debadgig a worked 550 or 535 is the possibility of being mistaken for an m5

while most wont care cause a worked 5 can easily take a m5 ; im just concerned with not trying to be something im not.

but on my e90 i had a CSL trunk and it was debadged. looked great

I'm probably in the minority on this one, but here is my setup and I love it.

Debadging is fine, a lot of people do it. What is a BIG no-no is debadging and then putting an ///M badge on the car - that is the ultimate in poser.

Awesome! That will be my go to mod!

Funny how I never heard the word "POSER" since my skater days. A guy who had the nicest skateboard, shoes, skater shorts and shirts but could not even ride the skateboard lol!

LOL, yeah, Bimmer guys tend to frown heavily on people trying to make their car more than it is. If it didn't come with an M5 badge from the factory - don't add one. Because it's a clear indicator you have a tiny penis and need to compensate :happy anim:

Samething with my lifted truck! My friend's always kids with me saying "Overly compensating for something Gene?" and I usually say "that's not what your girlfriend /wife says!"

this is what I mean by poser:
http://app.letgo.com/k8Mk/sxISgDk2hu

there is nothing wrong with a 528, but don't be stupid and put m badges and claim it's "m upgraded" when it doesn't even have sports package.

My cars are always de-badged, because it sucks when you detail your car and there is dirt staying between the badges....
