Rattle from empty passenger seat area

I get a rattle from the passenger's seat area when the seat is empty and going over rough patches in the road. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this and is there a cure?

Or try holding the head rest on the passenger seat.

Garage List
Move the buckle lower? So it isn't in contact with the side of the car.

The buckle cannot be moved any lower than the plastic stop in the webbing strap.
There is a plastic slider with which you can move the buckle all the way up, but mine sits just fine if I slip the belt over the backrest side bolster.
Alternatively, you could latch the buckle into its receptacle.

I had the same issue with my F10 and was extremely annoying. I started noticing it over bumps and the rattle only got worse when I put an exhaust system on the car. I took it to the dealer, they said it was because of my aftermarket exhaust vibrating underneath the cabin. I took one of their foremen for a spin and showed him it would rattle over bumps as well.

Outcome: After they confirmed it rattled over bumps, they acknowledged the issue and changed the seat back under warranty. Problem fixed.

It is the seat belt however I think its the seat belt on NON multicontour seats. My previous F10 had multicontour and never once did I have this rattle, I am in a NON multicontour 528 right now and have this problem often.

I only have 2 F10's that were daily drivers, could be coincidence, any thoughts?

I am having the same problem and I am sure it is not the seat belt the noise is coming from the seat itself I will have to take the car to the dealer.

Put the steel buckle on the seat side of the strap.

I have the seat belt buckle issue in my car ( comfort seats ).
Every time my wife jumps out of the car, i have to tell her to " fix " the seat belt ( get the buckle to not hang loose beside the seat back, rattling on the wall.

M problem is not the seat belt - it's the seat itself. Seems to be around the headrest area. Anyone found a fix?

Same issue.. but louder

My F10 is now a week old and I noticed the same, although it sounds as if the entire back of the multi-contour seat is rattling on its hinges.

Very annoying. I will check the seat belt and other ideas posted, but was planning on raising it with the dealer if I can not resolve it.

thanks, John

Its the seat belt

I adjusted the seat belt, positioning the clip to the top and I think that has resolved the issue. the Clip drumming against the side of the seat caused the sound to radiate in a way where it seemed the noise came from in the seat.

Its the seat belt.
