widest rear tire

hey guys whats the widest rear tire i can run with my oem 19" sport staggered wheels?

For the width of 9" the 255 will look and work fine. The lesser will be stretched, the wider will look donut.
Max known is 295 but this is for the 10.5" or 11" rims.

^But remember that the OEM size is 275/35/19. You really want a wider wheel if you want wider tires.

You are right remmib, the 245-275 is the awful factory setup. And technically this is the widest reasonable set with the OEM rims.

The rear 275 donuts on 9" add even more body roll when cornering, considered the whole factory suspension already needs to be upgraded for firmer. We know this golden thread about the M5 sway bars

As the alternative use of the factory rims, I have put the winter 255 Hakka 8 square all around. They are +10 mm front and -20 mm rear, and really look, drive and steer better. But I would agree if told this is my subjective opinion.
