Hi All

Will soon replace Good Year LS2 run flats. Considering the Bridgestone DriveGuard tires. Good reviews from manufacturer, dealers, and customers. Your thoughts on putting them on a 535i? Tire has a 50k warranty. Haven't personally seen it. Does it have the look we want for a BMW?

Put them on our '12 535i. Totally satisfied.

yes, go for it, cheaper but 100 times better than the lousy good year, and quieter too

The Driveguard are a great tire for what they are, but performance isn't a category they are designed to impress in. They are most certainly better than the LS2's that came on base model F10's though. I don't find the sidewall or tread pattern to be particularly attractive.

I recommend these tires mainly to people that need RFT tires with the primary deciding factors being low budget, and longevity.

Thanks for the responses. What other all season performance or touring tires would you consider? Thought hard about the Bridgestone Pole Position tire, but from what I can tell, this is a summer tire instead of an all season, so they will wear out quicker, right?

OP, you started off with considering run flat, hence driveguard is the way to go. But if you also consider non run flat + all season, I would suggest continental dws 06, and be sure to put in the fact that F10 does not come with spare tire and you would need to find a solution in case of flat tire with non run flat.

Michelin A/S 3+ is excellent if you don't want runflat.

I was also considering these tires, but my 2011 535i has the sport package and thus a 275/35R19 rear tire. Of course, Bridgestone doesn't make these.

I'm probably going to have to stick with RFT this time around (don't have the energy or trunk space to buy a spare right now). I can't find anything with the tread wear ratings of the Driveguards in the 275 aspect.

Anyone know of an equivalent in that size? Is it worth replacing the fronts with the Driveguards to get the durability and go with something else on the back?

The Potenza's that came on the car when I made the CPO purchase made it about 25k miles.

TireRack has the P0's, Turanza's, and Michelin Primacy around the same price. The Goodyear Eagle F1's are a bit more. Any thoughts/opinions?

Thinking of replacing all 4 tires with Goodyear LS2 ROF at the BMW dealership for $1600
This includes balancing and alignment

Also, i ran into so many threads saying that Bridgestone Driveguards ROF is much better compared to LS2 ROF

Discount tire has Driveguards for $1080, which includes mounting and balancing but no alignment

I"m also about to replace the LS2 which i haven't been too happy with. One tire bubbled and two of them the rubber is starting to peel on the edges of the tires....I really don't want to put them back on so i was seriously considering the Driveguards...they seem to get better reviews and are cheaper then the LS2.

Any updates on experiences with Bridgestone Driveguard vs. OE tires (I have Continental Contiprocontact SSR RFT 225/55 17)?

I've been told by the dealer that replacing my tires will solve the continuous vibration at 60-
75mph issue.

I didn't feel the Contiprocontact were particularly bad in terms of comfort or noise, but on wet and snow they were not impressive. I read a lot on the Drivguards and they seem the better tire.

Any comments/advice on the two tires and vibration issue greatly appreciated!

They are much, MUCH quieter than the rubbish LS2's! They also ride much more comfortably!

I can't imagine paying $400/tire for those terrible OE Goodyear LS2's. It's as if they're made of granite. The beauty of replacing them is rather a safe choice as nearly any other brand of tire, standard or RFT, would be an improvement.
