Correct coil packs for N63

After getting the part number from RealOEM (12138657273) and searching online I found most stores selling that part for ~$55-65. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...l-12138657273/

One website, oembimmerparts.com, has an Eldor coil for $30 with this description:
Quote:
Ignition coil with boot and updated metal sleeve. Made By Eldor OEM.Sold each.
Attention:We purchase these directly from Eldor in Turkey. They will not have the BMW logo or the Eldor name present until the contract with BMW expires. If you want the coil to have these marking, then you will need to purchase the Genuine BMW Version listed.
https://www.oembimmerparts.com/BMW-F...8657273f10.htm

If you select the models, the 550i isn't included in the dropdown however the part number is the same as the one from RealOEM. Has anyone had any experience with this? Would you feel comfortable with the Eldor "OEM" coils?

Can't go wrong as it the newest updated version. If you want the bosch oem ,just expect it to fail again. Bmw parts get superseded all the time. I would take the latest version just to have piece of mind that it will last a little bit longer than the old version.

So are you saying to go with the cheaper Eldor? That's the updated one?

Sure. But its not cheap , same as the bosch i bought for my car at RockAuto for $30. That website is just overpriced. I would buy the updated version but my car is still under warranty. Gotta keep it oem. The one coil tore in half when I remove to check the sparkplug so i had to replaced on my behalf. The oem Bosch is the sh!ttiest coil pack i had ever seen in my life as a car guy.

I just replaced all 8 with those unbranded Eldors. They felt solid and are working great for me.

They came in boxes branded as "Hudson"

I changed one out a couple months ago and now I have to change another one. Is it worthwhile to just do the whole set? I'm at 74K miles.

I believe these are still the newest ones.

You can find them on EBay. A set of 8 go for $185. Just ordered mine yesterday.

Psssssst....

There are no coil packs; the engine uses a coil-on-plug...
