Total Time Stopped - Auto Start/Stop

I must admit, as a city driver, I am not as put off by the Auto Start Stop feature in my 2012 528i as are are many regulars on this forum.

I was wondering if there is a way for the car to display/measure how much time you have spent with the engine off due to Start Stop?

I imagine it being displayed as a function of cumulative minutes/hours, or broken down by trip, much the same way the trip computer can be adjusted to see trip MPG vs cumulative MPG.

I know it isn't saving a TON of gas by being stopped for 30 seconds at a light, but I'd be very curious to know how much total time I spend sitting with my engine off during trips, and over the lifetime of my car.

Is this possible? Or did I miss something in the manual or buried in the options of eco pro?

in the city, you probably do save a respectable amount of money on gas

but it may also wear out your starter (even if it is reinforced) if you plan on keeping the car for 7+ years

cost and benefit.

That would be a very cool stat to have available. And also would like to know how many gallons (or fractions of a gallon) saved on a tank

I think it saves fuel if you are stopped for 7 seconds or longer, I try and roll up to junctions so it doesn't trigger unless I'm likely to be stopped for longer than this.

I think it must record somewhere as they would want to collect stats for any starter motor failures.

For that purpose, I would think the number of cycles would matter; the time stopped, not so much.

I can remember the onboard manual of my 530d saying that fuel is saved when the engine is stopped for 4 seconds or more.
