F10 N63 coolant bleeding and aux tank gurgling
Hi All,
a few months purchased 2013 F10 550xi with N63. Recently had a coolant leak and identified as the lower radiator hose was pissing. Got it replaced and was trying to bleed the system per bleeding instructions. But noticed that its not doing it. Couple of observations and a question: o) as i read, when bleeding - the electric pump engages runs the system q) which pump? i know there is a turbo pump ( under aux tank) and there is aux coolant pump which is at radiator on pass lower corner..... which pump needs to engage? o)when looking for a leak, added the leak detect fluorescent stuff, ran the car and drove plenty - (a) after shutting the car off i hear the gurgling in the aux expansion tank.... and i noticed that none of the leak detect did NOT mix with anything in the aux tank.... q) looking at the coolant lines the AUX tank is connected to the auxilary pump ( not the turbo pump- this one runs off the mechanical water pump)... does this mean that my aux pump isnt working? q) how to test either pump for functionality? q) is there a fuse ( i have the bmw diagram but unfortunately symbols dont mean too much to me) q)is there a relay to test? Thanks for your help! |

fyi, no error codes in diagnostics for any pump malfunction.
No overheating, when monitoring engine temp - its where it should be. Anyone is willing to go and perform the coolant bleeding test and let me know which pump is doing the work? Thanks again! |
