It is in the battery itself with the circle connectors.

I have the same message all the time I get in the car I have to unplug the solar panel battery charger from the trunk it’s connected to the battery itself with the voltage check and it has the battery cable lugs. Should I get a new battery or charge the battery? Please tell me what to do?

I will say the same thing that was recommended back in post #51. I would take the battery somewhere to get it checked out. Is it just slightly discharged and can recover with a good charge? Or is it too old and discharged so low (or too much) that it will never recover...even with a good re-charge?

Only having the battery tested/checked will reveal if it is a goner.

Also, connecting directly to the battery with your solar charger...bypasses the IBS (intelligent battery sensor). The IBS monitors the battery and facilitates with the vehicle's charging system how the battery should be recharged. So a direct connection to the battery can have the IBS communicating incorrect data since it doesn't know what is going on with what may be perceived as a hike in voltage due a direct charge connection.

Which lead back to having the battery tested/checked to see what state of charge its in...and if it can hold a charge or drop when a load is applied.

Do you see a sticker with the battery's manufacture date? Or is there a code engraved on one of the battery posts? Asking only to know how old the battery is. It may be time to replace it if it is old...and not able to maintain a positive state of charge.

I google your question and the answer is

Get a stick of Wrigley's Chewing gum, chew it, Stick it to the end of a pen and touch the penny and ease it out. If you have managed to lodge it worse by prying on it, Use a pencil with an eraser... apply a very tiny amount of super glue to the eraser and press it against the penny.

Roll the car over and it should fall out.

Just kidding. Put a small amount of hot glue on the end of a pencil and use that to grab the penny. You can also use gum.

See post #72…which was an answer given that you appear to have ignored because you asked the question again as if they didn’t give you a suggestion. It iOS similar to the suggestion above…put something sticky at the end of a tool that you can insert into the socket….duct tape, glue, silly puddy, paste, etc

Will it fix your issue…probably not. If the penny blew the fuse to the socket…then out cant be draining your battery.

But if the penny did not blow the fuse…the cig sockets are shut down after 15 minutes of no activity on their communication bus when the car is turned off. So that again wouldn’t drain the battery if thed socket is powering down. This is the reason you can use the cig socket as a power source for a battery charger or a dash cam…it is shut down after 15 minutes.

BTW…did you ever get the battery tested to see if it can hold a charge? How old is it?

I went on BimmerLink to look for a error message and I selected junction box electronics clicked on and I saw the error and the terminal what does it mean it’s for the battery discharge message? Please I need an answer. What about the battery discharge charge message I had the battery for a year do you think I need to change it cause I have a solar panel charger it’s charging in my truck it’s where the battery is.

Input your BMW hex code (8020E8) at this site: https://bmwfault.codes/

Terminal 30 has something to do with ignition & power. There’s a bunch of Terminal 30s…with multiple alpha characters proceeding the “30”…they all indicate various powered iterations when the car is being turned on/off.

There is a parasitic draw somewhere. It's usually one of the comfort access door handles.

I’m perplexed…didn’t you see the description of the fault code.

From the link in my previous post that decodes the fault code you posted:
Fault Code Description (8020E8)
Diagnosis monitors the control of terminal 30 F.
The fault is entered in the following two cases:
  1. When there is a terminal 30 F reset or switch-off.
  2. When a reset or switch-off of terminal 30 F is requested but does not take place due a switch-off inhibitor.

Following switch-off inhibitors are possible:
  1. Parking light, side lights or hazard flashing ON.Terminal 30B ON.
  2. Relay fault in power window regulator.
It sounds like your battery is being drained due to something not turning off when you shut down the car. It cant be “a fuse” because removing a fuse would also remove the power to the item the fuse is connected to.

YOU STILL HAVE THAT PENNY IN YOUR CIG LIGHTER SOCKET?

The question you just asked was answered in the description of your error code. Focus on something that is supposed to switch off when the engine shuts down but is NOT shutting down.

It needs to be replaced with a like kind AGM battery. If you don’t know what size you have…check first to determine if you need the larger 105AH battery (this is a 95R/H9 class size battery)…or the slightly smaller 92AH battery (this would be a 49/H8 class size battery).

You can call your local BMW dealership for a price check (they will ask which
AH (amp hour) battery you’re asking for…so again, check what is installed…either the 92AH or the 105AH battery.

Here’s a link to a thread from the end of DEC that discussed replacement battery info & registration. Most have found the BMW branded battery from the dealership’s parts department have been compatible priced…and many time the best price. And some aftermarket battery brands may have a slightly different AH rating. Some H8/49 batteries may be 90AH, 92AH, or 95AH. And the larger 95R/H9 batteries only have 100AH ratings.

For the battery replacement does it need to be original or get it from auto part store? I know it’s a 105 AGM battery. I have the battery discharge message can it be from the battery. Cause if I replace it will say the same thing after it’s registered? I have comfort access do you think that is what’s causing the issue?
