Passenger Restraint System Failure
I think I'm the first to experience this issue specifically for the 2011 F10.
I was driving away (ironically) from the local BMW dealer, and the error popped up. I do remember putting some things on my seat (accessories I purchased), which might have tripped it... but, in any case, shouldn't have received this error -- especially with only 6,000 miles. Went back to BMW to schedule a diagnostic check, will let you all know what they say... Anyone else have any insight?

What was the message exactly on the IP? Did it look like this or something different?

Said exactly what I typed in for the title. I'll see if I can grab a picture of it and post.

Weird. I turned on my car, the warning showed up then immediately disappeared... Still going to take it in to see what's wrong.

Likely one of the many systems failed momentarily to respond in an appropriate manner to a query which lit the fault. But since it's part of the passive restraint system, it would be smart to have it checked-out.

Found out what it was... if you ever spill a little bit of water on your seat, you're likely to get this error. I used a spray bottle to spray down the seats a bit before conditioning them, and I think some water from the spray bottle managed to leak out since I left the bottle sitting there... and, then the sensor went off... fixed it by putting the heated seats on full blast for a bit and clearing the code.

never would have guessed that in a million years. I spray down the seats all the time, but I guess mist and pour create two different effects.
