Emission Light - Help
Hi there
This is query in regards to BMW 520d - 2012. Yesterday, I was waiting for someone in car park and I noticed the emission light was up on the dashboard - The electrical were ON but the actual engine was OFF. When I turned the engine ON - the light disappeared. I tested this again today - when I press the ignition button ON (while keeping the engine off) the light stays on the dashboard but when I press the clutch and start the engine - the light disappears straight after. The car was last serviced 14 months ago and I am thinking to get car serviced in next 2 months time (together with MOT). I do not drive much - just school run and weekend drive. What is this light and should I get my car serviced ASAP rather than waiting any longer. Kind Regards Gag |

Are you talking about the CEL (Check engine light)? Because every 5 series does that when the electricity is on, the second you turn the engine is on the light turns off.
