DME tuning 550xi n63tu

I just recently picked up a 2014 550xi CPO with 29K. Love the car but feel like its need to woken up a bit. I came from a 2011 audi s4 that had a bunch of mods. the 550 seems to be a lot less snappy and not quite as fast (may be mental) I really want to feel it pull harder. I had a jb4 stage 1 but felt no difference even with the dials turned all the way up. I took it out and im returning it. I also have a mesiterschaft exhaust now.

I had the exhaust installed at Auto Coutour in NJ. Nice shop. They are trying to sell me on the DME tune. They are claiming about 100hp at the wheels and very reliable. Anyone here have any experience with DME or know something i should be aware of?

I have gone to AutoCouture a bunch of times, service has always been on point. In regards to the DME tune, I have not done it myself (just have jb4) but many folks swear by it. An acquaintance I know, had it installed on a 7 series; not the typical car to get that enhancement... but it made a major difference. I'm sure there are some guys on here who can provide firsthand experience with it.

I don't have first hand experience, but know of cars they have tuned on IG. Their tuned cars are beasts. Seems like they are a top notch shop from everything I have heard about them. I say do it!

Thanks for the feedback. Hopping to get some first hand feedback especially in the long term reliability.

I have the DME Tune, love it. Actually had a small glitch at first where the turbos weren't giving full boost (common on Alpinas as well) but DME tended to it immediately. We joke about how it was a part of the plan, so the car felt even faster afterwards

Loving it so far. Sure they're might be something faster out there, but I've had no drivetrain malfunctions or major/minor issues at all.

DME actually dyno'd a tune-only 650 that showed gains of 130whp and 140wtq, which is super impressive. I have yet to dyno mine soon. Although I did a pull from 60 one day and clocked 140 before I even knew it.

Someone did a run recently in a tune-only 550 with BB's filters. 11.7, and that was on pump gas with so-so tires.

With my downpipes, intakes, and exhaust, I'm curious to see what I'll run on the 1/4.

Highly recommended. Hit them up and tell them I sent you

Here's a sound clip for you:

So I had the DME tune done on Wednesday. After a few hours the tuner comes back and asks me if I noticed an engine clicking noise before. I told him there was definitely no noise before. We took a ride and you can now clearly hear a metal clicking noise that follows the Rpms. The tuner told me he doesn't like the sound and I should go to bmw and check it out. He gave me the name of a service advisor that is somewhat cool with mods. I really hope this nothing serious. Starting to wonder if I made a mistake. Now have a tuned car that I have to baby till my Tuesday service appointment.

Oh man that's never a good feeling. Any tune will expose a weakness in a used motor. I'm sure Alex from MissionPerformance will at least consult with you and not send you to a dealer. He helped me out of nightmare tune and its been nothing but good times ever since.

Mo at DME Tuning is pretty knowledgeable and has tuned many of these cars including mine. He has good relationships with the local dealers as he also put me in touch with an advisor that has been very cool with my mods. Either way, he stands behind his tunes and offers a money back guarantee if you are not happy. You are in good hands.

Dude.. do your H.W before you bad mouth a reputable tuner.
Before you Ever tune a car it is always recommended you do a full health check of car. Remember it is a mechanical thing and things go wrong.
I have done 4* cars with DME including my wife's X5 that she drives with my 3 year old daughter.

Experience with DME
Issues = None
World records = to many to count
Trust = Full

Google me any which way my friend = 200M6H

"Do your homework" you obviously did not read everything before making that comment. When did asking a question become bad mouthing. No where did I say anything negative or blame them. I simply posted the error codes and asked fellow members, many of whom are more knowledgeable than myself, "could this be caused by the tuner?" When did asking a question for others opinions become bad mouthing?

I am starting to believe that there are many board members that have a financial interests or benefit in some way by being affiliated with certain companies.

Vested interest lol , I don't need it trust me lol.
Point is I have experience with DME and it's affiliates and nothing but big Power and reliability on my end.

Also, before you tune or modify you have to be prepared for the worst no matter who he tuner IS.
PAY TO PLAY.
