Third brake light cover removal

Hey all

I've got an annoying rattle on my f10 where the third brake light. I believe its because when I got my windows tinted the installer left something loose in there..

So my question is, any ideas on how to remove that interior lining that covers the housing of the 3rd brake light? Closest i found is a thread for replacing the third brake light on the e90. Anyone knows it this applies to the F10?

Thanks in advance

How about driving to a BMW dealer? You can zip an espresso while they fix it...

Anyone remove these third brake light covers?

I recently added a sub, and when cranked up I've detected that most of the rattle is coming from the third brake light covers...need to put some black felt or tape/dyna mat insulation in there and maybe the on the edges too...I pulled on the edge of the large cover on one side but got scared of breaking something...I would assume they just pull off and are held with tabs/clips.

Any help appreciated.

Problem solved...without full removal...the rear portion of the bigger (headliner wrapped) panel has some give...I was able to get a slimline piece of felt tape in the seam between where the bigger panel meets the small plastic trim around the third brake light (that is against the rear glass). There was some plastic to plastic rattling going on there, sounds much better now with the sub cranked, and since the felt tape is in the seam it's not noticeable.

That cover just pulls off easily and reveals the antenna. It just clips on.
