That will work yes. I got mines from a x5m with only 4k miles. Could be a typo on their part and be 40k miles but it does look brand new. Works really, really well.

Granted, I spent 250 or so dollars on it.

So I got my car back from the shop after they replaced VC gaskets. Oil measurement function was not working. After research and a bunch of help from 550iFreak, it was determined a ground had been left off the fuel injector line. This can cause damage to the oil level sensor, alternator, and/or DME. Naturally, I start with the easiest/cheapest fix: the oil level sensor. $280 at BMW after tax. Took 15 mins to change. Didn't fix it.

Next: alternator. Bought a used one from an x6 for $230 shipped. Took me and my dad about 5 hours to change. The hardest part was removing the coolant fill tank in front of the alternator. Nevertheless, I finish the install and pray. Crank it up and the oil level function starts reading "measuring engine oil". After reaching operating temp it reads oil level max.

The next step would have been a new DME. Had that happened I would have sued the shop for damages. Since my problem appears fixed, negative reviews on google, Yelp, and Cars.com will have to suffice.

Moral of the story: those fuel injector grounds are no effing joke.
