F10 535i Totalled...
Hey guys. So this week my f10 535i was totalled by my friend. It is a testament to bmw's safety! I am so glad I am ok, but I will forever miss my baby.

I had an E70 totalled just over a year ago and it too saved my life... surprised that none of your airbags deployed. I was gutted at the time but soon put it behind me, especially when I picked up the F10!
How did it flip btw? |

When serious accidents happen all that matters is that everyone is OK. Cars can be replaced... thats what insurance is for.
My brother and his wife and then 5 year old son got T-boned by a guy blowing through a red light going about 50 mph. Thank god they were in the X5. Both cars were totaled, but the X5 passenger compartment remained perfectly intact and they all got out without a scratch. The driver of the honda went to the hospital in an ambulance. You could see the structural beams in both the front and rear doors. Very impressive. |

Airbags are violent so they are designed to not deploy unless the crash is deemed to be violent enough. I know that sounds strange, and I'm sure from inside the car this impact would have seemed violent, but the fact that the friend was okay indicates this was likely a mild impact and the airbags might have actually caused collateral damage to any occupants.

Sorry about your loss. Good things to come. Same thing happened to me and I went from this to this thanks to insurance.

Wow that is truly remarkable that the airbags did not deploy but glad that everyone is okay. After all, that's a pretty safe car to be in the first place.
On a side note, looking at your before pictures, you've got what I have been contemplating to do for quite some time, the black painted stock rims. By any chance, do you have any more pictures of your car with the black rims you could share? maybe it would persuade me to do the same or just buy new wheels and tires. Thanks! |
