I am going to order a 2013 or 2014 GT 550 M-Sport, Questions...

If I were to order the current 2013, will it have the new Navigation System that my 2014 X3 has? I really like the new next gen iDrive Nav system. Im sure they have updated the GT 550 already with the new system but can't find any proof for sure yet.

Any idea when the 2014's begin rolling out? I have heard it is an End of May Allocation

for the 5series, July is always the beginning month of the next MY.

Therefore, if you place your order now, then you will get the current & June month allocation. Technically, either you wait for MY2014 or you should get a huge discount for buying a 1 model year old car, that's about 15% of the MSRP as depreciation even before the car is in (May or June) production.

I don't mean to jack the thread here, but do dealerships really give that big of discounts for 2013 models now? If I wanted a 528xi that had a MSRP of 55k does that mean I will be able to lease it for 8.25k off that value?

Do you know if the current 2013 has the upgraded brand-new navigation system?

I don't know much in the US in regards to year end clearance. I can give you what's happening in Canada, if interested.

Typically, Cdn 5 series have a 9% dealer margin and if you are a smart shopper, you can now easily get one for about 7.5% off the configured msrp. On top of this, BMW Canada has started or will have started giving delivery credit allowance (rebate), probably around $2500 or so and will gradually increasing the delivery credit allowance as each month goes by. Historically, I remembered the most I had seen was well over $4000. Therefore, the grand total discount could easily topped 10 - 12%.

Also, once the next MY car production started, it will take about 1 month or so for the shipment to arrive in North America, thereby, all the remaining inventory will deemed to have depreciated while still sitting on dealer lot.

Yes, as bobblehead documented, the 2013 has the pro navi that you had to wait till the 2014 MY X3 to get there. However, it does not have the idrive touch controller. Here's a demo:

Search on "5 series LCI" for articles on expectations for 2014.

I would just get an LCI 550i "Sedan." 2014 should get the latest N63Tu power plant, better fuel econ and more power. A Lexus IS is getting the LFA LCD cluster, when the hell will BMW give the U.S the LCD cluster? The LCI 7s in EU already gotten the LCD cluster.

IMHO, the Sedans look 100x better than the GT. The wagon is sick, better looking than the GT as well.

I've had the GT before and I really like the GT. I already have a 550i Sedan, I want my GT again, it was the best touring car I've ever owned.

I'm waffling between the stock 18" and upgraded 19" rims. For your touring experience, which wheels did you have before and are you going to get them again?

I had the 19" rims and loved the car. I've always thought that most of what BMW offers as an upgrade seems to be worthwhile.

I was told it is about 8 weeks from Order Submit to Reception from Germany. Does that sound accurate?

I got 20's on mine plus H&R suspension, and man, it feels like a nimble sports car. It's excellent in the bends, and with DINAN Stage 2, you can pull hard out of those turns with ease thanks to 80 more torque than a Lamborghini Aventador (obviously not as good though lol, but pretty happy for its weight and sheer size)

Yep. Assuming your dealer has an allocation for the car you want.

It'll be of interest, I think, to see if your tires develop the same problems as documented with these 20's GT owners:

No problem, I'm on Bridgestones, and still running strong.

And the F10 550 is one incredible machine, but the F07, like none other. So rare, so unique, and unbelievable. Feels like a house inside, goes like a jet.
