Compass??
I just took delivery of my mineral space grey 535i with M Sport, Premium, Technology and more, and I noticed there isn't a compass in the rear-view mirror...am I missing something? Is it an option? I don't see how a 65k car would have the compass as an option, don't need it anyway, but I'm used to it being there in my F30.

I dont think the compass is standard or comes with nav in the mirror. Why does one need it?

I only saw it in the realOEM and some brochures, but even if the car doesn't' come with nav option, there is no compass. IMO, those compasses are not useful either.

I use sun during the day and pole star during the night for direction finding.

No to compass in any 5-series. Not sure if the 7-series has it either.
Always reminded me of a cheap American car feature. None of my Japanese or German cars ever had this. |

I don't have nav on my 535i m-sport and there is no compass. Personally, I find the lack of a compass very annoying. I tend to learn cities pretty well and I usually navigate around myself by direction - if I get disoriented now, I have to pull out my phone and activate that nav whereas in the past a quick glance at the compass would allow me to reorient. It's very annoying omission given that it is a standard feature on most every car and actually a useful navigational aide (for those who don't want to spent $2000 on a system that is redundant with the functionality of any decent smartphone).

Oddly enough, we had a F10 overnight and I never noticed the compass was missing. Not that big of a deal really, but I always thought it was somewhat useful. I guess it's just one more feature delete.
