The rear seat comfort and room are a common complaint. You seem the ideal candidate for the 5 GT or possibly the 3 GT. They are great family sports hatches. I don't know about the 3 GT but the 5 GT rear seats are adjustable and recline. There's also a partition behind the rear seats that isolates the trunk from the interior.

DHP on a dealer lot is rare enough let alone one on a 2013 at this late date. A 5 GT is really a 7 series and a 3 GT is really a 4 series. Both have more interior space than their sedan counterparts. I think you find a CPO 2012 or 13 in your price range.

Thanks Ernest,

Looking at your picture (and depending where you front seats are placed), the leg room gain doesn't look like more than an inch or two over the 535 I test drove. I've considered a 7 series, but I prefer the handling of the smaller sedan. My kids fit, with about 2" to spare for toes.

Kids legs already bend at the right spot to drop right down, so they should be OK as they grow over the next 3 years. My wife sits about 2" forward of me, so we'll put our 7 year old behind her and our 4 year old behind me. For trips to the cottage, we take our 2011 Odyssey which has loads of room for our stuff, rear seat entertainment and extra leg room for the kids. When we travel long distances we always fly.

PS love the colour of your interior

The 5 GT rear is cavernous. But if you have a minivan, it's moot. I remember that family phase. My wife drove minivans for 20 years. I made a mistake once and bought a two door car that "just fit" the kids in the back.... 3 years later they didn't fit anymore.

As for the interior, I was disappointed that Cinnamon is on the way out but I like the mocha nappa with stitching and it made it possible to get my favorite exterior choice. I took a risk on the trim. Had only a few hours to decide sight unseen. But I was just too tired of seeing lacquered dark trim and thought the light fineline would breakup the black dash and the mocha dash. Most of the time I like it but in some lighting and angles ... meh.

Deal is done on a 2013 535 x Drive, M Sport/Executive/BMW Apps/Black Dakota/Fineline Anthracite trim. Car is being shipped from another dealership to my dealer. I should have it in 10 days. Now I can drive it instead of researching it!
