BMW Limbo! How low can you go on a 2012 F10?

I have heard stories of people getting $6,000 under invoice for the 2012 F10's on the lot. Fact or fiction? How low can you realistically go?

I got close to 8 grand off my prices. Two things to have: sale price no more than 1 grand over invoice and European Delivery.

That's unrealistic; unless it's a demo or loaner car with a few thousand miles on it. I recently purchased my 2012 535i off the lot (Tampa, fl) for invoice +$500 -$3500 option credit; so I got it for $3K under invoice but that was only because of the incentives. Not sure if they're still running them now. And this for a brand new one with 7 miles on it. Dealerships are not in the business of losing money; and $6K below invoice is losing money

That is very hard to do, but 6-8k below sticker is very doable.

Are we talking about new, never driven ? Is that person buy a fleet of them ? say 100 bimmers ? If so, I am sure the dealer may work out a deal with BMWNA first and pass the savings on.

For $6K under invoice, sounds like a demo or slightly used one.

Even if its true i would think its pretty hard to find a 2012 spec'ed the way you want it to be at this point unless you don't care.

For me the new nav and who knows whatever little fixes bmw put into the 2013 cars was worth paying the premium for. Especially with so many people with complaints on the earlier model F10's that seems to be sorted out on the later build cars.

$500 over invoice less $3500 option credit less $1000 drive for team usa less $750 loyalty less $1000 new college grad less $500 ultimate drive app = $6,250 under invoice. dealer still sells car at $500 over invoice (everything else is rebated by BMW) and is happy.

On my 550i purchased a week and a half ago I got straight invoice, minus $4000 BMW incentive, minus $1000 Team USA test drive cert. which equated to just under $11k off of MSRP. Plus the dealer I purchased from gave me $1000 more for my trade than anybody (BMW or not) in town had offered me.

The 550i hadn't really been in the picture for me because of the cost. I was going to order a very well equipped 2013 535i but with the dealer pricing plus incentives on the 2012 models it made the 550i within reach. I had to decide if I was willing to give up the new, improved nav. on the 2013's to get the 400hp, 450ft-lb V8 on 2012 550i. I choose to go with the power and live with the older, slower nav. Since I only used the nav. system rarely in my previous vehicles it made the choice pretty easy and am very happy I went the direction I did.

I think car discounts are all about timing. If a dealer needs to put cars through thier system to reach BMW targets they will offer very attractive incentives to do so. I am sure each car can carry a discount, but if 5 cars are sold at list price, could this mean 5 x discounts can apply to the 6th car..?

I don`t work in the car industry, but surely it is all about number of cars sold and overall income/sales in a set period that count..??

FYI, I negotiated a "Special Allowance" of Sterling £7000, which represents a total discount of 12.5% on my new 535D. No doubt others would have negotiated more, but i`m happy with the deal i got......I think !

Under "invoice" or MSRP?

$6000 under invoice sounds too good to be true for a new F10 but $6000+ under MSRP is very doable (ie: 500 over invoice, $3000 incentive, $750 loyalty program).
If you're even thinking about a 2012 and color/equipment combos are important, don't wait too long as availability will dwindle. I was looking for a Titanium Silver 550i M sport w/Gray leather last month and could only find one new one in the So Cal area.
Good luck!
