Rear Window Gasket Disintegrating - Replaceable?

Hey BMW experts, my F10 rear window gasket (correct term?) is basically turning to goo. I can smear it off with my finger. It is also attracting dirt which is getting embedded in it and looks like hell on an otherwise great looking car! Can this be replaced w/out taking the window off? If not, suggestions on how to find a competent glass shop to do the job (I've heard horror stories about poor jobs).

I have this same issue with my front windshield. Also looking for a solution.

yeah for rear window you have to reseal it carefully, I suggest you visit a glass workshop while showing them repair manual from newtis, look for 51 31 200 Removing and installing/replacing rear window

as for front windshield, you can buy the part separately. This should be the correct #PN: 51317203121

What the heck!? It is probably the same material used inside the door handle which also turns to mush.

Thanks JW... I'm trying to put it off for a minute, as long as possible! I was hoping it was a simpler job and not removing the glass. I don't want to have to brake the factory seal, nothing good can happen from that!

VERY similar. But at least the door handle can be swapped out relatively easily (first thing we did with the car!). Having to take this in sucks. The gasket around the front lights is the same way BTW :-(
