Anyone have these side lights?

http://www.parts4euro.com/depo-led-e...11-p-2090.html

It says they ship with no instructions, I saw a post (which I cannot find again) using a butter knife (gasp!) to push in the tabs that hold it in.

2 questions:

1) any pointer to instructions to remove this part
2) Anyone with Dark Graphite II put them on have pics? I'm concerned the color wont look great with my paint. Although almost by definition it has to jump out at you way less than the stock chrome jobbies.

TIA!

I do not have them, but here is the thread about the removal / install of the new ones. I don't think I would use a butter knife though, maybe a plastic pry bar or removal tool of some sort.

http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=546370

I would use a tool like these:

http://www.harborfreight.com/5-piece...set-67021.html

I purchased a cheap set of just the trim piece from eBay for like $17, then I painted them to match my car.

Just an update on my experience with part4euro I had the worst...I mean the worst customer service ever! I ordered my carbon lip from them and after more than 7 days of waiting they never shipped it! They have no business phone # to call...just email wtf?

Good feedback, thanks. Upon closer inspection, it says these lights dont work with parking assist, which I have.

Does anyone know where you can get painted or smoked backing plates without the lights?

I would advise against painting as I don't think that paint will hold up on top of chrome. I vinyl wrapped mine. If you don't want to go through this work, you can probably find the with and without the turn signal on a website like IND distribution or Bimman.

+1 on the vinyl wrapping. I did mine and at least it's still OEM and it doesn't interfere with parking assist

Just get some shadowline trim for the windows and use the extra to do the side lights. Takes time but relatively easy.

Yeah, I can wrap it, I was just hoping there was a part I could slap on it.

AHA! http://www.jbspeed.com/bmw-gloss-bla...celift-models/

So now the question is - what is a "Pre Facelift" F10?

In 2014 the F10 went through a lifecycle impulse/interruption (LCI) where there where some minor design changes. The one main one is that the turn signals moved from the quarter pannels to the mirrors. Since your F10 has the turn signals in the side markers, you are pre-LCI or pre-face lift.

Or Plasti-Dip. I did mine but removed it after a month or so as I ended up not liking it. Easy to put on and pretty easy to remove; as long as one uses enough coats.

FYI I used black on my Sophisto Grau/Dark Graphite II.

Removed these 2 today....
It was not an easy job despite all instructions.
I can still feel my fingers after this DIY

Tomorrow I will cover just these silver plastics with black foil.
Same will do with window trims which are also silver.

This is how it looks after treating the frame with black foil.
