If it happened to me I'd just let them do it..
That's what you get when we live in a society with massive capitalistic inequality..
I don't get when people place their possessions before the lives of foolish people (who are probably expressing their frustrating for failing at the capitalistic endeavor)
The American belief in the sanctity of private property is probably excessive.

And the way the girl lashed out at the attackers, not only was it incredibly foolish, is emblematic of a sense of entitlement and self-concern, ignorant of the forces and potential dangers that lurk. Super stupid.

Rioting? Rioting? That's outright vandalism. It's amazing how much scum is out there only acting like the animals they are when in numbers. Disgusted.

Pathetic.

At least the 'good' thing is they didn't attack the girls
Bigtime 1 on this!

It would be nice of all of us to send her a gift or a card or some form of support...

(hopefully) None of us have ever been in her shoes and hopefully none of us ever will be...

Cars (no matter how precious) can be replaced, life cannot. Hopefully she's thankful to be alive and realizes the car can be replaced...

Sorry, but at their age I can tell you I couldn't afford any car, yet it never crossed my mind to burn and pillage other people's property. A savage is a savage, period. Cowardy when alone, brave when in groups and intoxicated. Do you really think it had to do anything with losing a hockey game? It's just an event when they all get to be together and beat and burn for fun.

Risking one's life to protect a car is probably foolish. Car aside this girl was fighting for her DIGNITY. Y'know, protecting yourself, your family and friends, property you buy with the sweat of your brow usually goes together with one's dignity.

Just my opinion.

I can't believe not one guy had the nuts to go in there to say "leave this girl alone." Envy is a terrible thing.

In case anyone was still wondering, these guys aren't smart.

I wonder if they would have continued attacking her if she went in the car with her friends.

+1. In hindsight, its very easy to call them foolish for trying to protect their car, from a computer chair. It's a different story when it's your own property, especially when it's happening right in front of you.

If it's insured then let them have their way with the M5. Get a 1M and have 30 grand in change. Just my .02.

They need Chinese police/paramilitary police there. I am sure the Chinese will run these mobs over with tanks.

Except that she might have purchased the car brand new for 100k+ and its only worth 40-50k now..... Which is all she would get from insurance.

I would have drove ~10 MPH and ran over anyone who didn't move, until it cleared up to get me the hell out of there.

For your dignity, sure its allowed, but this is a 20-something girl for who would it be too presumptuous to ask if she did sweat for her M5, she probably didn't even have a license when it came out.

Its not like Mel Gibson in the Patriot when he is actually defending his home and stead.

A 20 yr old kid/thug kicking in another 20yr old's luxury car. It's not exactly defending your country or newborn.

I feel guilty already driving my 528 into the city and watching pedestrians suck in the fumes.

Yeah, everybody was young and foolish once. I'm happy to say I know when to avoid trouble now with the benefit of hindsight. If it was home invasion no one would blame you if you fired warning shots into the lawn.

brave girl, BMW should definitely give her a new car to show buyers that they care. it would speak pretty good of the human factor of the brand.
on a side note, running people isnt an option, maybe homking and going slow asking people to move would do the trick but it depends on luck. good for her she wasnt a guy or they wouldve kill him, Ive seen a lot of riots and things tend to get messy. by the way, if you shoot a couple of warning rounds, I can guarantee people would go away, they arent fighting for human rights or something so you can bet they arent willing to get shot for being asses, even if someone is packing it would be a very long shot to think he will kill someone for something stupid like this so he would probably look the other way.that if you dont shoot at people, of course.

That girl who was defending her M5 was just PLAIN STUPID. As others have pointed out, during a mob riot, the mob mentality could had EASILY turned on her. Next thing you know, she would had been raped by 50+ guys right there on the street. Just look at what happen Lara Logan, the CBS reporter covering in Egypt. Things turned ugly in just a minute and next thing you know she was completely butt naked and sexually attack by so many guys she couldn't even count them.

The girl with the M5 was lucky this wasn't a ghetto area sourrounded by the likes of those in Katrina or Egypt or she would had regretted the day she got out of bed that morning.
