Valentine Radar detector question

I have a 2011 550 and also have Valentine radar detector . The radar detector keeps going off pointing towards the back! Could this be picking something up in the car?? I tried 2 radars and the same thing happens !!! Any idea???

Mine does the same thing.

Spoke w/ Valentine customer service, said this is a common malady in late model BMW's that have mutiple radar based technology (Lane Departure warning being one).

My Ka, and K bands will sporadically blast mutiple warnings , (seen 9 hits simultaneously).....I have found I use it now only when I toggle to Sport Drivetrain or are on extended free way trip , as I have grown tired of multiple false threats , and pressing the damn mute button. Happens whether lane departure is on or off!

My recently departed 2008 E60 550i did not have lane departure option, V1 worked perfectly.

There has to be a fix for this, Valentine indicated my software is up to date,

In my conversations with Valentine last winter it sounded like a fix was unlikely since they use a common radar band. They did indicate that Audi was the worst in this regard. As I understand it the radar is always on even if you turn off the function.

I think someone posted that changing the jumpers on the V1 to disable POP made it better though.

Didn't order any of the radar based options for just that reason. Properly functioning V1 is essential for me.
