I ordered 2012 550xi msport titanium silver with black dakota leather premium sound and sport trans with paddle shifters and is on board the Mignon vessel due in the usa oct 25th. I did not order nappa leather and read on the order sheet if you dont pay the extra $1000 for nappa you will no longer get the thigh support extension with the dakota leather on the 2012s. I am hopeing this is a misprint.

Which order sheet are you referring to? I'm the one who posted the original question because of what I read on the bmwusa.com features&specs page here:

However, my dealer says the seats are the same for Nappa and Dakota. I physically checked out cars, and at least in 2011, there is no difference in 5-series multi-contour seats between Nappa and Dakota, they both have the thigh extension and exactly the same controls.

I'm going to assume the pattern in the 2011 cars and the dealer info is correct until proven otherwise.
