F11 Roof Rails Wrapped or Not??

Here is my Sophisto Grey F11, i bought it Nov 2014 and since then have set about doing various upgrades some ive had mixed reviews about but on the whole positive, lately i have been debating if i should get the side indicators and roof rails wrapped black, any opinions and comments will be greatly appriecated thanks.

Upgrades include

20" M5 reps and 12mm spacers up front.
H&R Spring kit with rear load sensor adjustable bars.
Front carbon Vorsteiner rep Splitter.
Rear vorsteiner rep diffuser.
M5 unbadged grill.

planned mods include

quad exhaust, tailpipes dark shadow chrome look.
booked in with avon tuning for dpf/egr delete stage2 remap
expected to get 235bhp.
reletively modest speaker upgrade, im aiming to better my current standard
setup and do it on a budget of under £150-no laughing

looks really good. Due to the colour of the car, I actually like the contrast of the titanium silver roof rails. The indicators I would wrap as that chrome can definitely go.

Yes i get what you mean with the contrast, and a friend has already suggested that route to me, i may even attempt to wrap the repeaters myself, however i do think it looks easier than it actually is

Price quoted, rails £150 repeaters, £20

I had my front bumper and trunk spoiler wrapped by a pro, but he gave me a small piece of the left over stuff for me to do my own indicators. They turned out really well - you just need a hair dryer and a sharp knife for trimming. Its fairly easy with small flat-ish pieces.

I see you're planning a speaker upgrade - let us know how that goes as I'm planning on upgrading my standard system but don't know where to start

Yeah right in the process at the mo will try and document things as best as possible though, i went to town on my e90 spending 900upwards and although was a big improvement i dont think the cost justified it. Im pretty confident this time and am hoping to get a substantial improvement for around £150mark, that will just be component setup front doors and 4" coxial rear plus a long list of needed things eg.

Flashing tape, instead of dynamat
Stormguard weather proofing seal for snug fit around front door speaker adapters.
Tweeter sails for the hifi spec f10/11 and connector plugs to allow me to make aftermarket speakers plug n play, i bought these today from sytner newport, very reasonable. Can confirm tweeter mounts are the right ones and cost peanuts, and speaker adapter plugs look promising but have not tried as yet.Name: Screenshot_2016-01-02-13-07-05.png

Yes im 95% sure, as bmw have used these plugs for donkeys years but dont think anyones documented them on the f10, i expect technic in the U.S would know, hopefully by the weekend i will have the door cards off and will know for sure if they fit.

And also, tweeter covers come with the inner foam backing for snug fit of tweeter, i did read somewhere that our blank covers already had the moulded foam backing in but this was not the case with mine it was just empty space behind the cover. Even more of a bargin cant say that about the stealers very often!

Cool f11, and yes, you should wrap/paint those parts.

Seeing that you have a black grille and Msport comes with black window surrounds I think the rails look odd in chrome as there's nothing else to tie it in...

I would definitely wrap

Im going to go for it

I think i will always wonder what it would look like wrapped, and it can always be peeled back off, so as soon as funds permit its getting done probably mid feb now, speaker upgrade and avon tuning remap next. And stag do in amsterdam

It looks amazing! Regarding your rails, why don't you just remove them? Personally I like the contrast.

I almost have an identical car and spent 2 weeks researching quad exhaust options. Have gone for stock OE BMW black chrome tips on 2 x generic but twin (parallel) tail pipe mufflers. Great minds and all that!!!!

I also ordered some carbon eyelash things for the lights..$30 from China. They might look crappy but we can only try! Andy.

Andy how does the car sound with the quad exhaust? I took mine to a local custom exhaust shop and he talked me out of having it done! Told me that diesels with performance exhausts don't really sound great, you just get a lot more boom and not much more of an exhaust note were his exact words...

I took his word for it but am curious if this is the case, however I did enquire about a performance exhaust and not a quad exhaust

Thanks again Andy, yep definately think the dark chrome tips will complement the car colour. Roof rails leave a slight recess i think when removed so may look odd, but i will wrap and if its not as good as the contrast it will be coming back off, suppose i should try and find an f11 pic with oem black rails 1st!

Did ponder the eybrows, because they add a whole new look to the front of the car, but in my opinion bmw really did well on the overall and frontal looks of the f10/11 just screams mean, powerful and aggressive until i pop my bonnet and theres a humble little 2.0L lump.........ill always wish i could have afforded 535d.

If these ever come down in price i might be interested, sound system exhaust, with built in subwoofers purely for diesels.

I think many me be skeptical about these.

Now that is awesome

I really want one now, but it's bloody expensive

Keep us posted if you find a more reasonable priced version...

If it were my car:
Leave rails for contrast, or gloss black to match the black shadowline and rest of the car. Same for sidemarker trim.

Either than or rails/shadowline/fendertrim to another finish for contrast. Like brushed aluminum or brushed gunmetal.

Last thing is on my space grey i hated how the white stood out on the headlamps.
I fixed with color matched eyebrows(they come in CF but i painted over) bought off ebay.

I fuckin LOVE wagons/F11s.

I hate America.
