F10/F11 CIC head unit feature check
hello forum,
I am happy owner of a F11 525xd for 2 months and so far I am getting more and more excited by the car! I got all the specs I really wanted, but deliberately I've opted out from the professional navigation system (4000+ USD on my price list). As result I have the 8 inch screen and inactive navigation button on the iDrive. My question is a follows: I read there are business navigation systems on the same setup and I do wanted how can I check on the iDrive whether there is GPS receiver and capabilities that are just SW locked. Any hints on this? kind regards Michail |

I'd look again......its a 7" screen. The larger one looks so much better!
As for your question, I doubt the CIC with and without the nav would be the same. Going by the general trend of how BMW squeezes every penny out of you for the smallest of options it just seem highly unlikely they'd throw in a GPS unit without charging something for it. The fact that the nav option is not available as a plug-and-play retro-fit also supports this theory. Those who opted to spend $$$$ for a nav retrofit have had to replace the screen AND the CIC unit.
