It is simply a software tune offered by BMW. It increases engine horsepower and torque, optimizes shift points, as well as a few other changes to the performance of the car. I have had them on my other BMW's, and it is a nice upgrade. Car is more responsive, and is a great addition that does not void your factory BMW warranty.

Before getting inundated with questions why I am not using it... I purchased it when I first bought my car, but I have decided to installed other upgrades to my vehicle that require more tuning capabilities than this alone can provide.

Is this the "installed" or the "uninstalled" version? Will the Stealership charge extra for installing this? (or can be it self installed?).

I've always had it installed at the dealership, and the last one I had done was around $75. I found a great service advisor, and have been going to him for years now.
