Can sport autobox be set to sport as deafult?

Hi again

I'm having to select 'sport' mode everytime I fire up the car, is there anyway of having this as a default setting?

Thanks

This perhaps is the #1 thing I wish we could do. The answer is no. My default would always be 'sport mode' suspension only.

The only sense I can make from it is BMW "forcibly" (for a lack of better words) making us think green.

I actually enjoy the normal mode now, it's smooth and relaxing for the passenger.(mainly my wife) and when I'm driving alone, 1 click and car's a whole new machine.

Very interesting. My 1st F10 didn't do this but my new one slated for build week 13 might, eh? Will be the first thing I check! Anyone else verify this?

My September build 535d sport auto will remain in comfort or normal, but reverts to normal if switched off in sport mode.
It's not a problem for me as it's not exactly very difficult to flick the switch to whatever position you want.
It's probably a different issue for those of you lucky enough to be driving on decent roads, but I find myself increasingly selecting comfort mode in town to compensate for the deteriorating condition our streets here in the UK.

Agreed, UK roads are an absolute disgrace. UK road tax, fuel tax and the real kicker - VAT on fuel - tax on an already taxed product (!!!), is farcical when actually think about the shoddy road network.

Especially bad in your neck of the woods too I think :

Scotland's rundown roads face £2.25bn repair bill

or should that be

Considering the events in the Middle East, perhaps it's time we motorists protested en-masse.
The government gave in to the tree huggers this week - why not us?
If there was an anti fuel tax lobby I'd join in an instant.

... and to think I was going to spend my tourist $$$ by driving/ferrying over for a week! Not sure I want to subject The Beast to such harsh conditions.

The roads in this country are getting seriously bad and very little is being done to repair them, which detracts from the pleasure of driving through the wonderful scenery up here.
So much so that I'm seriously considering a driving holiday in your neck of the woods.

You should! Driving through Germany is a pleasure; driver discipline, roads and of course, the scenery!

UK isn't alone though, from what I hear the roads in the US are quickly going to shit too.

Yes, I'm rapidly warming to the idea of bringing my 535d back to its birthplace (mine also in Hamburg), but the only thing I'm unsure about is driving a RH drive car on the continent.

I have no first hand experience but every now and then I see a GB plate and no one sitting on the left side tooling along. Same thing you mention is the same reservation I have about flipping to the opposite of the road myself.

love this concept! http://www.fastcompany.com/1660258/t...-70-car-pileup
