Here's my guess based on the 2013 BMW brochure for my 2013 X3. Same sound system or quite similar because here's how it's described:

Premium high-fidelity system is a 16- speaker, muti-channel system that outputs reproduction of the surround information contained in the stereo signal in a nine-channel format (seven mid and high range channels and two central bass channels) as well as a 5.1 surround sound from a DVD source. Includes a 600 watt amplifier with nine channels. The system compensates for driving noise in smooth steps and speed-dependent equalizing. All 16 speakers are fitted with very strong, yet compact neodymium drives.

The B&O sound system isn't available for the X3, so they're promoting the Premium Sound System (H-K) as an upgrade. Since the B&O sound system is available on the 5 Series BMW doesn't even bother mentioning the middle option for sound in the 2013 brochure: H-K.

Here in Sweden, and probably in the rest of Europe, we have three upgrades to the sound system:

- HiFi, (standard in the US)
- HK
- B&O

SonicEndeavor confirms this. It's from the 2014 online brochure:

are these specs/options country (US) specific? I'm asking because I'm seeing stuff being indicated as standard but optional other markets (like Canada). Has anyone seen a Canadian version of this brochure?

Reason I'm asking is according to this brochure:

Are standard equipment. Does anyone who's taken delivery of an LCI confirm that these are there?

I cant believe that HiFi is an upgrade. The system in my car sucks!

LOL, Yes it does. After I added JBL MS8, sound is crisp & imaging is so much better, It is hard to spot speaker with your ears.
