Vancouver has never been the best when it comes to prosecution, the judges tend to be lenient.. Some say however that harsh punishment do not deter crime. I call BS on that...

She went all out to protect her M5 (and rightly so) but let's be real: there were way too many people to drive through. They would have stopped the car and dragged her out.

Right, but my point is that she could argue that she thought her own well being was threatened. There would be lots of holes in that argument, but it would come down to a trial and who has the better lawyers. Brave girl and hats off to her. Was satisfying to watch her beat and kick at them but I have to agree with this post.
