Anyone have a link to an owner's manual, updated for the extended black panel instrument cluster? The one on bmwusa.com still has the old instrument cluster.

Ive picked up yesterday my car with BP. Very happy with it, i Will try to post pics of the BP
It is nice gadget, but nothing more than the standard panel. Its nice to have

It would seem it would be relatively easy (but not necessarily cheap) to retrofit the extended black panel display

I have a week 9 build 550i on the way. The revised BMW Canada material clearly indicates "Black Panel Display Technology - shows the display instrument cluster as a black matte surface when the ignition is switched off" as Standard equipment on all Canadian 5 series. I'll know for sure in a few weeks... Here's hoping!

the black panel display on Canadian 5 series is standard? so you dont have to order the Head-up display in order to get the black panel？

That would be a first. Even in some EU countries (eg. Austria, Germany, Belgium - not UK) if you don't order 610 HUD then you have to order 6WA black panel at around €150.

yes that's true.Mine doens't have HUD and I only ordered 6WA for 155euros

The Bulletin I saw also stated, clearly (for the US), that the extended display was already standard on all 5 series sedans which had Navigation. That is clearly incorrect, so I don't know what other parts of that Bulletin should be disregarded as well.

It's really no longer a mystery. If your VIR (order sheet) says 6WA you are getting the full black panel, if it doesn't you're not.
