Managed to get my phone working with EBT that was kindly coded in on Sunday, one of the many settings on the iPhone needed adjusting, now emails and sms pop up on the screen, just need people to email and sms me now......ha ha.
For you guys who's software was too new for the coding version on Sunday, it looks like the master has it sorted already.
Good luck for the next session!

Travelling at the moment, will update here as soon as I can organise something. Also need to play around with 54.1 on my own car before I invite you guys over.

Apologies, but not likely for at least 2 weeks. I am out and about for most days.

My F10 was updated in Oct/Nov last year, I suspect that I may be in the 'can't be done' category, where can I find what software update I have?

Cheers.

No easy way, without connecting ESys to your car.

Although, your car probably is OK as my 535 is also a Oct 2014 build.

Finally received my 64GB USB stick from Amazon today and was able to run the maps update. Worked like a charm, took 40 minutes. Never asked me for an FSC code!

Thanks again gspannu, you rule!

Glad that you have the latest maps working. Good news.

Also, I believe you can get your HUD to show up Entertainment details if you get your car updated to the latest firmware from the dealer.

Excuse my ignorance but does EBT require different BT hardware or can any BT enabled f10/11 be coded for EBT?

I have a December 2013 F11 (lci model) with the standard entertainmen/nav.

I believe you would have to have a combox to enable EBT, I am not sure wether your car would have one, later models with pro nav have this as part of the pro nav package hence being able to retro enable it. Without a combox I don't think it is possible, funnily enough I noticed one for sale on eBay yesterday.

It depends on what nav you have.

If you have
-CIC business / professional then combox is must. It is not know as EBT for CIC. Its known as 6FL and 6NF.
-NBT business, then combox is must.
-NBT professional, then combox is built-in.

I was told earlier that you cannot have EBT on business nav, but I was corrected last night. Business nav can have EBT if you have combox with it.

Thanks guys, I'll do a little research to find out how much they cost to buy and how easy they are too install. I don't suppose you know if the f10 combox is shared with other models in the BMW range?

Craig
Remind me if you have business nav or professional. Also, if you dont mind, pm me your last 7 digits. I think coding EBT is possible on your car.

I'm on standard business Nav but was also thinking about upgrading to professional but not 100% sure what is required. Plenty of kit available on Ebay if you know what to buy>>>

Not entirely sure, as it's a 2013LCI model does that not automatically make it NBT? I'm getting a little confuddled with BMW's terminology

If you have touch controller then its NBT.
If you have standard controller then its CIC.

Also, do you have usb in the arm rest?

BMW has changed its terminology so its confusing for me as well.

The idrive controller is just a standard rotary controller and not touch. I've also got USB in the arm rest and glovebox. Did you get my VIN by PM?

Hi
Yes, I got your vin via pm.
I know that in US they launched NBT at the end of 2012 but your car is late 2013 and still no NBT.

Ok, you have business sat nav with combox. Re: Combox, we can only confirm by hooking your car to computer. Or if you feel brave, you will have to take your boot trim out on passenger side and you will find combox.

Since, you have usb in the arm rest, it is most likely that you have combox.
BMW has changed its VO codes so checking by computer or physical check will confirm it.

As far as I know (as of last night), you can enable EBT on your current system.

Also, you can retrofit professional navigation (CIC). You will have to buy CIC and emulator. Fitting and coding. My only worry would be if it goes to bmw for warranty work, they will ask you to put your old business nav when it comes to coding.

Coding

Guru,

I've got Esys on my laptop, I've got an Enet cable coming in the post and I'm going to start some coding. Any idea where I can get the F10 cheat sheet? and how to code DVD in motion as it didn't work?

Thanks

Thanks Makkan, will have a look in the boot this morning when I wash the car. Wanting to do a speaker upgrade as well as pro nav so researching that too.

Interesting, it decided to ask me for the code after all, the day after the update. All working now!
