Reading email on the nav screen...

So, thanks to this forum I found out how to read text messages from my iphone 5 connected via BT...in the messages menu, I noticed a filter which allows to display messages from sms/email/... but I can't figure out how to read my email...did a search here and on google, but no answers...is there somewhere a step by step guide on how to setup an iPhone to be able to read emails on the navscreen?

Thanks

What kind of phone do you have? Currently, there is a bug in iOS devices that won't allow emails to be displayed UNLESS you change the number of emails to be displayed on the notification screen each time you get in the car.

bluetooth...hooking up an iPhone is really easy...turn of wifi, search for your car's (partial) VIN to appear as found devices and connect (using a 4 digit key of your choice)...that's it...

Could you please share how you got the iPhone to share SMS with the car via BT? I know I am not answering your question but I am following you on your footsteps… Thanks!

On your iphone, goto settings, notifications, view sms in lock screen.

Everytime you get a message a small envelope comes up on your idrive. Then go messages via office or telephone or use voice command 'messages'

Obviously your iphone should already have a bt connection.

Can't you change the name of the phone in the settings? The phone settings that is not the car settings.

Also, on iPhone go to settings>Bluetooth>options and tick the show messages box...

Simply change your phone's name in the phone settings to display different name than factory setting.
