Harmonic Vibration Feel on my 2013' 528i
Guys,
Need your Help trying to find the root cause of an issue that is driving me nuts. i have weird Harmonic Vibration when driving at highway speeds. feel it mostly on the floor. i have taken it to BMW showroom and Road force balanced all wheels Multiple times. they even kept my car for a day and returned my car saying there is nothing much they can do. is this kind of non continuous vibrations also signs of Bent RIM? Appreciate your inputs.

Nope...I'm planning to replace my wheels and see if it makes any difference.

You never replied with the road force values! If you have any that are over 10 lbs, you will have vibrations around 70mph. Your SA may say different, and values in the 15-20 lb range may not cause issues with other vehicles, but with the F10 chassis, it will cause the problem you're describing.

So if they are more then 10 do you suggest replacing the wheel ? By the way with damaged rim will the vibrations be harmonic?

If you have excessive road force, the problem could be excessive run out from the wheel (wheel isn't perfectly round) or a defective/unevenly worn tire.

Was having the same issue with highway vibrations starting from 70 and above and snj1013/John was able to point me to the right direction. I could feel my vibration on the foot rest and into the seat. It was to the point where I could see the headrest on the passenger seat vibrate so slightly when the seat is not occupied. Did a true road force balance and getting it below 10lbs solved my issue. Try finding a good tire shop that know what they're doing.

Does it happen when turning? I had the same type of issue which turned out to be a wheel bearing. Vibration on left turns is left front. Vibration on right turns is right front. Opposite from what I know about all other cars.
