My dad and i purchased a 2011 535i that was in a front left collision on a dealer test drive. The car has 400 miles and a clean registered title. We're going work on it together on the upcoming weeks.

We need:
Hood (ordered)
M sport bumper (ordered)
Performance grills (ordered)
left head light (ordered)
left fender (ordered)
Airbags (researching)

Hood:Does anyone know where we can find an after market vented hood? anything sporty as long as its not stock looking.

Bumper: We ordered an Oem M bumper, fell in love with it on first sight.

Grills: Ordered

Headlight: Ordered a salvage part on eBay for 500 But it doesnt come with the LED bulb, Anyone know where we can purchase this?

Fender: ordered, not much here.

Airbags: I need some clarification here. Do we need to also replace the airbag module or do we just plug in new airbags? Not too familiar with airbag system.


All the parts are on queued ordering list but can be canceled by tuesday, so quick reference are needed.

Comments, tips, advice, recommendation, all welcomed!

sticker price before taxes is 60k USD

We paid 46k after parts/ taxes/ labor etc

Should be fun to get it fixed up. I mean it's a brand new car. So it will be awesome. But, I'd have a little fun with my friends and that car first. It needs a new bumper and hood anyway. So how much worse could you make it having a little fun bumping your friends.

Don't think there are any aftermarket hoods available for this car yet. I would just stick with the OEM for now. Getting a black grille will change the look dramatically.

Will an MSport bumber look odd with an otherwisec ''se'' car? Has anyone done this?

Hidden damage?

Be careful - especially with airbags and such. To my knowledge there is a module - more than just the plug-and-play bag. You'll have to reset the electronics so the car knows that the airbags are in satisfactory condition.

To answer the LED question, I believe they are inside the headlamp module, and not a separate part. There is a posting with a cut-away or pull-away image of the headlamp.

I was in an accident in my 2005 Acura RL, and the repair bills kept coming (started at $8k, ended up at $24k).

You may also have to replace the pyrotechnic seatbelt - it should have fired in an collision like this.

There is also a pyrotechnic charge for the main Battery disconnect as well. That could have likely blown in the accident.

Not really. From the front, there is few indications of mports package other than the bumper.

I do believe there pre-tensioners in the seat belts. Something weve over looked thanks for that.

The leds as it turns out are two bulbs under each ring, the set up is quite interesting actually. Ill post pictures of the bulbs for anyone curious.
