How to Best Remove Microfiber Lint from Paint Finish
Searched the interwebs for a simple answer to this, but all I get are How-To's for washing microfiber towels which is not what I'm looking for. I have microfiber lint that I need to remove from a few recently polished panels on my 5er before applying the ceramic coat to ensure a perfect finish. What's the best method for removing them without risk of damaging the finish? If I spray a detailer on the area, the towels wipe away the lint, then leave behind more. I tried using some bottled water and very light pressure with some brand new towels but even that fails to fully eliminate the lint, which is slightly infuriating. I'm using the Gold plush variants from AutoGeek. Any useful insight is kindly appreciated.

Don't laugh, Go to Costco and get a pack of their MF towels.
No lint at all when you apply it with a quick detailer. I am very upset about this as I have a very high-end collection of MF towels and they all leave lint but not these guys.

Hi Guys.
I buy and use the same Kirkland (Costco) MF polishing cloths in the UK. Used them for several years now and find them great. This is my very first posting, and not sure if I am on the correct site or not. All you guys appear to be from the good old USA. Am I on the correct site or is there a different one for the Brits? ps. It is not 08:28 here, it is 14:28. |

I'll have to pick up some of those Kirkland MF towels next time I'm at Costco. I've spent hundreds buying proper MF towels, I can't believe those cheap alternatives do what the others won't, but I'm down to try most anything at this point.

Lint from microfiber towels usually means the microfiber towel is no longer good.
Washing and drying them improperly will decrease the life of the microfiber towel. If static is a problem, http://amzn.to/2vXW7ms will make that go away. I use it as a final wipe down after detailing a car that static is the problem. Spray a little on the microfiber towel you will use and no static. |

i just picked up 3 bags from Sam's Club yesterday. i usually get 3 different colors. for the exterior i use the Blue one. everything else i use the Orange one. the wife uses the Yellow one for the Stainless Steel on the fridge, microwave, dishwasher and stove. there's actually a guy on YouTube who details professionally and says he uses it on his client's cars and has had no issues whatsoever!
