Cool beans. I believe a new battery is only like $700 and it has a chip so you need proper equipment to install it.

Lol 700? I'm getting an Autozone/Advance Auto battery and having an Indy shop program it in. No need to get an OEM battery. These have better warranties and rated higher anyways.

I was wrong. It's a lot cheaper. Only $200 for the 105 Amp. This is what BMW replace your battery with to solve the shitty battery problems everyone had.

We've already said a bunch of times that "Yes, you can!"

Upgrade it if you need to. Just take it to someone that can install it properly.

It took me awhile but I finally ordered the 105Ah battery online. There were multiple people selling them online but they wouldn't ship batteries.

I finally found BMW of Chapel Hill and bought it from their eBay page. They will ship it to me.

There's a SIB that came out early this year that affected my car and BMW recommended upgrading to the 105Ah battery.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=12

They called out a battery part number from the OEM catalog which was cheaper than the collision catalog that was provided in this thread.

61-21-2-353-814 is the same OEM East Penn 105Ah AGM battery.

Here's the eBay link where I bought it from, I just bought it today so I will keep you guys updated after it comes in. I also purchased the additional clamp that the SIB calls out needing if I upgrade to 105Ah from 90Ah.

My previous '98 528 did the same thing after 5 years. It only happens during high humidity and rainy days... and eventually everyday. Then it started messing with other more important things like traction control. I'm guessing the seal is broken in your ECU/TCU modules like what happened in mine.
Disconnect the battery and reconnect to reset the ECU?
