Exceeding power limits of ZF8hp45

Well its finally starting to happen! As we have been slowly turning up the boost on my F10 PS2 535i Ive been experiencing torque limiter issues in 6th gear. This is even with the BM3 transmission flash which I thought removed or raised those limiters. And then yesterday while doing some 60-130mph pulls for data I noticed the trans starting to slip in 5th and 6th gear. So now that Im starting to find the weak link in the N55 cars I have to make a decision. I know theres another company called pure drivetrain solutions that makes a rebuild kit for the Zf8HP45 thats good up to 800 or 1000whp but the rebuild is $7k. I guess you have to pay to play but wanted to maybe discuss what other options we have out there!

Whos your tuner? Key is to catch these signs early! i had the XHP stg4 and raised all torque limiters while having shoup plau around with the torque ceilings and no problem. Or you can go the Pure Drivetrain Stage 1 which i see they lowered down the price to 3k.

Cary Jordan with Jordan Tuned. Ive noticed the torque limiter issue for a while and have mentioned many times while discussing on my BM3 custom map comments and requests. But yeah I dont have XHP which I was thinking about getting. tomorrow Im going to get under the car and check fluid levels and make sure everything is correct and then decide what I want to do from there. I just went to their page and noticed the stage 0 which is good for 750 hp and 750 torque is $3250. Thats not horrible.

I have XHP Stage 3 and it has been wonderful. Out of curiosity, how is Stage 4 compared to 3? More wear? And in your opinion, do I need to raise the line pressure for just a Stage 1 MHD tune?

No need to raise the line pressure unless you are experiencing slipping which you wont most likely experience with a stage 1 tune. Im FBO Pure stage 2 E50 with Meth and just started experiencing slipping once we started getting above 23psi.

I am having same issue going uphill full throttle. I am at about 17psi with PS2. What is the best route to rebuild this transmission?

Pure drivetrain solutions has a 750 whp and 750 ftlbs of torque rebuild kit with converter for $4200 and $3200 with out converter. So far thats the best option.

And those prices are rebuilt trans prices, not a kit.

You are correct I worded that incorrectly. Thats for a completely rebuilt trans with laser engraving but does not include shipping to NY which you can guess might be another couple hundred in freight depending on your location.

I wonder if anyone has had this rebuild completed and whats the feed back? I mean is anyone throwing down 800whp with their N55 with a ZF8HP45?
